Attorney and founder of Law Elder Law LLP, Rick Law and, Executive Vice President of Operations, Katherine Motley were asked to speak at Elgin Community College on March 29, 2010. They spoke on “The Essentials of Elder Law” as part of the college’s paralegal program. This was a particular honor for Kathy, as she is an ECC paralegal alum.

Attorney Zach Hesselbaum of Law Elder Law LLP was married to Kelly Winklelbauer on December 19, 2009. The ceremony and reception were held in Kelly’s hometown, Westfield Center, OH. Kelly is a school social worker in Bloomingdale, IL. The entire staff of Law Elder Law LLP would like to wish Zach and Kelly heartfelt congratulations!

Diana M. Law of Law Elder Law LLP spoke on the topic of “Drafting a Special Needs Trust Pursuant to a Divorce Decree” with Kerry R. Peck of Peck Bloom, LLC at the Kane County Bar Association Bankruptcy and Divorce Seminar on December 3, 2009.

In the beginning of this year, Rick spoke to the Kane County Bar Association on the topic of “Elder Law Essentials for Every Lawyer.” This seminar was designed to highlight the ethical pitfalls a lawyer could potentially find themselves faced with if they dabble in the area of Elder Law.

Rick Law and Diana Law were both named “Leading Lawyers” in the area of elder law in 2009. Diana, the youngest member of this organization, and Rick were featured in the Leading Lawyers magazine as a “Father/ Daughter Leading Lawyer” team.

In May of 2010, Diana Law will be traveling to Orlando, Florida to speak at the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys Annual Conference. She is honored to be speaking with two other esteemed attorneys: Kerry R. Peck of Peck Bloom, LLC and Edwin Boyer of Boyer & Jackson P.A. They will present on Restoration Hearings: The What’s, Why’s and Wins.

Kathy Motley and her husband Stan attended the WGN Reception at Goose Island Pub in Chicago and the opening home game for the Chicago Cubs. Kathy is our Executive Vice President of Operations and is pictured with WGN broadcaster, John Williams, who broadcasts on WGN weekdays 9 to noon. Go Cubbies!
